Click Inbox then Sent then Sent Invitations. Find the invite on the list and click it open and click Withdraw. This will make the invite inactive so the recipient can't Accept it.

But what if you get a message saying the invitation could not be withdrawn. Any ideas why this message shows up and how to force the withdrawal of an invitation.

What if you just go to sent invite, and click delete? Does that only delete from your own box, or does it cancel the request from the other side too?

It's supposed to cancel the request from the recipient as Dave mentioned earlier.

I'm with Gunasegar, I didn't realize LI was going to invite my entire contact list! I'm getting confused emails from people I barely had contact with 5 years ago! LI needs to be more descriptive when walking folks through this step.

You have to open the message to get the withdraw button to appear. So go to your inbox, click the message to open all the way then the withdraw button is there.
