DECEMBER 2014

LI chooses people to be INFLUENCERS, such as
authors and industry leaders, AND NOW WE
will be able to publish LONG-FORM POSTS.

Long-Form Posts on LinkedIn - Overview
What is publishing long-form posts on LinkedIn?
Last Reviewed: 11/04/2014
We're always looking for new ways for members to contribute professional insights
on LinkedIn. We're expanding LinkedIn's publishing platform by allowing members,
in addition to Influencers, to publish long-form posts about their expertise and interests.
While publishing a long-form post on LinkedIn doesn't mean you're a LinkedIn Influencer,
publishing allows you to further establish your professional identity by expressing your
opinions and sharing your experiences.

www.linkedin.com/in/margaretost is my public profile and you can't see my plethora of long-form posts using it. However 1100+ people on LinkedIn have viewed my most recent long-form post (about packing for trips) to date.

However, can you see mine by clicking on photo?

I thought I could see yours, by clicking on your photo, but I couldn't.

        What is LinkedIn Influencer?
        Last Reviewed: 09/05/2014
LinkedIn Influencer is a designation given to approximately 500 professionals who've been invited to publish on LinkedIn. As leaders in their industries, geographies and seniorities, they talk about broad topics of interest such as leadership, management, hiring and firing, disruption, and how to succeed.

Our list of Influencers includes Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Arianna Huffington, and Guy Kawasaki. Similar to a magazine with contributing editors, we work with the Influencers to develop content topics that we believe are relevant to members and that will spark inspiring professional conversations. We may package this content and market it accordingly. We invite all members to join the conversation with us and to share their own perspectives via comments, shares and long-form posts.

Note: The roster of Influencers changes throughout the year. We regularly evaluate existing Influencers to include only the most engaged, prolific and thoughtful contributors and to ensure that their expertise matches our members' interests. We no longer accept Influencer applications.

            Irv,
This should have found your long-form posts published on LI.

            HOME or PROFILE, for example.
            The top SEARCH BOX,
choose the IN one for POSTS

Put your name in quotation marks.
            "Irv Rubin"
Should retrieve long-form posts. I found other people's posts that way.

Were they PUBLISHED, or are they SAVED AS DRAFTS?
No one would be able to see saved DRAFTS except you.

If you also pushed them out as STATUS UPDATES,
which I do, you should be able to see them in your ACTIVITY on your PROFILE.

I looked there, but didn't see any posts on your profile.

Hi Margaret, Happy holidays to you. I'm still your worst student:-(((( I thought I followed the posting procedure and have had one LinkedIn colleague comment on several of them and he told me he gets an 'alert' that someone he's following has added a new post. I'll try to post one called The Soul of OD [again] right now to see if you can find it:-)

Did you choose PUBLISH after you wrote them?

If you want more people to read it, I suggest a title that doesn't use abbreviations.

Is "parlor post" a thing or just a typo?
