Yes...here is how:

Go to CONTACTS / CONNECTIONS / ADD CONNECTIONS...

OR...on NEW TOOLBAR, go to NETWORK / ADD CONNECTIONS

"SEE WHO YOU ALREADY KNOW ON LINKEDIN" is headline on page.
Right below are envelope icons:
There are six envelope icons. The first on left is GMAIL. The sixth is ANY EMAIL.
Click on ANY EMAIL.

Do not get distracted by the other email icons!
Look to the far right...ONLY CHOOSE "ANY EMAIL"

You are NOT PUTTING IN A PASSWORD AT ANY TIME!!!

Look at the bottom half of the screen...
MORE WAYS TO CONNECT

NOW it lets you INVITE [your cousin Molly] by individual email!!!

Put in MOLLY's email, and other emails separated by , [comma].

    It seems to work, thanks!

BTW, I think this is needlessly complicated. We all have colleagues that are not LinkedIn members. Inviting them should be made easier.

Well...not being a LinkedIn employee either, the fact that they don't have a simple explanation and many welcome on this one I created, is quite amazing.

I meant how to invite someone who is not a LinkedIn member yet.

Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for. Adding a personal text to the invitation would be nice, but the basic capability seems to work.

Yes, several steps probably could be easily eliminated to make sending invitations to people not connected...much easier! That's the point!! Get connected :)

if some one new to us in LINKEDIN and we want to contact them as we think it might be useful for professional contacts then?

This works, but it's unbelievably inelegant. Why not an "Invite to Join" tab under "add contacts" with a space to add a personal message?
