Importer was better. Should at least be optional...

Uploading Your Resume when Applying for Job on LinkedIn

How do I include a resume with my job application?
    Last Reviewed: 04/05/2012
In the Resume section of the job application, click Browse. Locate your résumé on your computer and select it. Your resume will be uploaded when you submit your application.

The size of the file is limited to 200 KB.

Hi Tarun - welcome to the Forums!

You didn't specify where you wish to upload your resume. Since Margaret already covered how you can add your resume to a job application, I'm just going to focus on the profile part of the resume. Earlier we had a feature called "resume importer". The “resume importer” feature has been disabled for the new profile. We find that our guided editing feature is more helpful in building your profile.

You can get started on building and improving your profile from here: https://www.linkedin.com/profile/guided?trk=prof-0-sb-guided_edit-primary&goback=.npv_12494185_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1.

      Hope this helps!

I have been trying to apply for a job but my resume wont load - I've checked the size and is only 366KB. Can anyone offer a solution? Thanks!

So is there a way to post your resume, then? That "guided edited feature" just asked a few questions. I've had prospective employers ask if I can upload my resume but it appears I can't.

If your résumé is on a link, you can
post the link and give access that way.

                Importing Information from Your Resume
How do I import information from my resume onto my LinkedIn profile?
                Last Reviewed: 04/10/2014
If you don't have an experience or education entry on your profile,
you'll have the option to import information from your resume onto your profile:

Click Profile at the top of your homepage.
Move your cursor over the down arrow next to the Edit button and select Import resume.
Click Choose file or Browse to locate your resume on your computer.
Click Upload resume. You'll be taken to a page where you can review
the information extracted from your resume.
Double check all fields to be sure the information is completed and correct.
                Click Save Changes.
If you don't see the Import resume option, try our personalized guided
editing tour to complete your profile instead.

Note: The resume importer only accepts English and French text at this time.
