Ditto, I am annoyed with this feature and like many others it is sending inaccurate information to my contacts.
LINKED IN PLEASE SHUT OFF THE ANNIVERSARY NOTIFICATION!

Extremely unprofessional for a company that claims to represent professional people.

OK, I just found something that perhaps cant be useful - under the "Account & Settings", which locates at the upper right corner of LinkedIn page, and under the "Privacy & Settings" (sub-menu), you can see the Profile tab.

On Profile tab, it has this option - Turn on/off your activity broadcasts .

A number of posts I have read, including this thread, stated that LinkedIn Support responded no such feature to turn off such activity broadcast, therefore, I can't confirm if it works or not, but we should give it a try.

@Timothy, they don't seem to understand. I agree with you: one does want others to see what your activities are, but celebrating your anniversary?? Who cares?

Not only anniversary. My friend got laid off from his job and from being VP in Amazon, he changed his status to Independent Consultant. Suddenly, everybody in his network got message: Congratulate Suchn' Such with new job! == what a kindergarten, seriously.

Please remove the work anniversaries 'feature.' Not only do I not want anyone to get email 'from me' about my work anniversary, but I definitely don't want to see theirs. You wonder why nobody clicks on the 'half spam' inboxes in gmail, this kind of crap is half the problem.

Please add my voice to all of these who are saying "I don't want LinkedIn asking people to 'congratulate' me on work anniversaries!" Like so many others have said, I would never write people to ask them to do such a thing and I really don't want LinkedIn doing that on my behalf; I too find this practice to be rather embarrassing, a breach of etiquette, and just not my style...
