Your current "public profile" link is as follows:

http://www.linkedin.com/pub/henry-montes/23/9a/184

You can create a custom link for your "Public Profile". Just go to "Edit Profile" and then click on the "edit" link next to your current "Public Profile". You can create a "Public Profile" link like the following:

http://www.linkedin.com/in/henrymontes

It is much easier to remember, and it will show up on Google.

LinkedIn does not provide an option for creating a custom link for a company page.

I am trying to connect Outlook to LinkedIn and the URL address I am using is:
          http://www.linkedin.com/in/suzanneboatner
I am using my email for the user name and my password and it comes back that I am using an invalid user name or password but I am putting them in correctly. Is it the URL that is incorrect?

It sounds very much like you are attempting to "sync" your "Outlook" account with your LinkedIn account, which could be *very* risky considering you might wind up sending an invitation to every entry found in your "Outlook" address book. Many hundreds of thousands of LinkedIn members have made the mistake of opening their email address book to LinkedIn and faced major aggravation and embarrassment as a result. Are you *really* you want to face the same aggravation and embarrassment?

Is it possible to use a link without having a public profile?
(I do not mind that people can contact me directly with the link, but I do not want to be registered in search engines etc.)
Seeing I do not have 2 LinkedIn accounts I cannot check whether using my direct link (se.linkedin.com/in/vangeelkerken) works, because if I log out and visit the page it just says log in....
